Part 1 of 4: Craft Your Holiday Marketing Goals

It’s not too late to prepare your holiday marketing plan! Whether you own a brick & mortar or an online business, if you’re planning on doing any type of offer, sale or event for the holidays, now’s the time to start planning. The first step to achieving your holiday success is by creating a compelling offer that resonates with your audience, and this step beings with setting your holiday marketing goals!

The holidays present an amazing time of year on so many levels. Besides general holiday events and sales, there are many national days of recognition just around the corner. #SmallBusinessSaturday #CyberMonday #Giving Tuesday. Each of these days provide great opportunities to connect with new customers, increase your brand awareness and meet new revenue goals.

Another great thing about the holidays… the energy! It can be a magical time of year, there’s a buzz in the air. As individuals let their guard down, relax a little from their work environment, holiday networking can easily result in new B2B relationships that last well beyond the holidays. As a store front owner, you can also create an inviting environment to earn new customers by organizing events that bring members from your community through your doors. Who doesn’t love to enjoy a few chocolates, some cocoa and cookies or to sip on a mimosa while meeting new friends and shopping for a loved one?

But first, before you host an in-store event, online sale or a business networking event, you need to think about your goals.

Sample Holiday Marketing Goals:

  • I want to ring $3,000 in revenue between Black Friday and Cyber Monday
  • I want to increase my daily average sales for the Month of December by 18%
  • I want to get 150 people into my store for Small Business Saturday
  • I want to host a networking event with 35 business owners in attendance

Now it’s your turn. Take out a piece of paper or grab your phone and jot down a few holiday goals. Think about revenue, timing, how many people you hope to engage, etc. You can craft one goal for the entire holiday season or create multiple goals for smaller segments of time.
